Personal Training Client Agreement - Policies, Terms and Conditions

By investing and participating in Personal Training, you are fast tracking your results and Metric has faith that by working together we can get results. However, it does take two to get results. Success requires a level of personal commitment from you as well. Teaming up with a personal trainer is not simply an option to transfer personal responsibility for your health onto someone else.

Session Duration

All training sessions will be for 1 hour and each client(s) will be given an allocated and dedicated time slot every week to train. This can only be changed upon mutual agreement and subject to availability.

Injury Rehabilitation Policy

Metric understands that there are times that you may not be able to participate in the session due to an injury. But this does not mean you should not train at all. As long as you provide Metric with 24 hours’ notice I can plan an alternative session for you to take into consideration your injury.

Physical Ability

Many of our sessions will involve strenuous physical activity and it is recommended that you seek medical advice before attending or participating in a session (including those undertaken online). You must make Metric aware of any health conditions or injuries as soon as you are able to do so before starting your training sessions, and keep Metric aware of any changes to your health or any new injuries as soon as possible.

Guarantee

As with any professional business, Metric are not happy unless you are. If for some reason you are not happy with the service you are provided, please raise this with Metric, so we can endeavour to provide you with the highest quality of service and rectify any problems.

Payments

Payments will be taken via Direct Debit on the 28th of every month.

Package and Session Cancellation/Hold/Changes

As like any person or business we can't work on a whim. If you would like to cancel, put your package on hold or downgrade your package you will be required to give us 28 days notice. If your payment date falls within the 30 days you will then have access for the following month from your payment.

Requests to upgrade to additional weekly sessions can be facilitated for the next payment month.

The most important factor in improving health, fitness and achieving results is consistency. Training regularly and turning up for each session is just as important as the quality of the workout. Personal training guarantees you will receive quality instruction and professional service. Therefore, a 24 hour notice will be required if you are unable to attend a session. If you cancel less with less than 24 hours notice, the session will be lost and will not be refunded or carried over.

You are able to carry over one session over to the next month if you have a 1x weekly session package, and two sessions over to the next month if you have a 2x weekly session package (and so on for higher tier packages). Due to tight schedules and volume of clients, it isn’t feasible to carry multiple sessions over to future months. If enough notice is given, Metric will do their best to facilitate one-off requests to move sessions within the month, within reason. If you request to move more sessions within the month than you are able to carry over into the next month, any sessions that are not taken over and above your allocated rollover will be lost. If a request is made to move a session, Metric will provide potential available time slots to facilitate the request where available, but note that this may not always be possible.

Overall, it should be understood that you are paying for a dedicated weekly time slot, along with the additional work that is done throughout the week to plan programmes for each session, and therefore Metric does ask that requests to change time slots are kept to a minimum.

Minimum Contract Term

When signing up to a new package with Metric, the minimum contract term is two months. After your first two months you will move to a rolling contract with 30 days notice to cancel.

Cooling Off Period

You will be afforded a fourteen day cooling off period from when you sign up to your first package with Metric (for the avoidance of doubt, this starts when the first payment is made). During this fourteen day cooling off period, if you change your mind about training with Metric, you will be entitled to a refund of either your full payment, or a partial refund, depending on how much of the service you have already used.

If during this period you are unable to train due to a health condition, your package will be placed on hold until you are well enough to resume.

2:1 Training Slot Cancellations

In a 2:1 training package, if the session cannot be attended by one client, but the other is able to attend, the session would go ahead as planned and no refund would be given.

COVID-19 Policy

Due to COVID-19, if restrictions deem us unable to train within the gym environment for a period of time, sessions may be undertaken online and/or at an agreed outside location.

If you are unable to attend the gym due to having COVID-19 but are feeling fit and well and deem yourself able to train, your session can be delivered online within your normal time slot. If you are unable to train due to having COVID-19 and this results in you needing to roll over more than your allocated amount of sessions to the following month, Metric will endeavour to do so at their discretion.

Trainer Holidays

The monthly charge for your training package is pro-rata’d to allow for Metric to have four weeks of holiday per year. This works out to an annual charge of 48 weeks training over a 52 week payment period, pro-rata’d on a monthly basis. A minimum of two weeks notice will be provided for any Metric holiday period.

Social Media

At Metric we take photos and video content that we then share to social media. If you would not like to be shown on social media, then let one of our coaches know beforehand.

Personal Agreement

I understand that certain elements of personal training can be physically demanding. As a condition of my enrolment I accept full and complete responsibility for my own participation in the sessions and for my physical and emotional wellbeing and the attainment of the goals I/we have established with Metric.

This means I acknowledge Metric’s recommendations and that I obtain a doctor's approval of my participation in this program. I agree to hold Metric free and harmless of any and all liability for any death, subsequent injury or health complication that may result from or be aggravated by my participation in this program.

I understand that I must notify Metric at least 24hours in advance of any changes I wish to make to my training timetable, as failure to do so may result in the session still being charged.
