Our Story.

I’m Michael, founder and lead trainer at Metric. I’m passionate about helping people find a love of fitness, feel confident in the gym and achieve their goals - whether that be losing weight, building strength or just building confidence in the gym.

My priority is understanding my clients, their motivations and the areas they need help with, and helping them achieve their goals in a sustainable way. I like to build long lasting relationships with my clients and over time as they start to achieve their goals, help them to look towards what’s possible and make progress they had never previously considered achievable.

I understand the impact that building confidence through training can have from first-hand experience. As a teenager, I was skinny and lacked confidence. I started learning how nutrition and exercise could help build muscle, started training at a gym and made progress in how I looked and felt. I feel lucky every day that I can now help other men and women across the North East achieve their goals and look and feel their best.
