Sophie’s Story.

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO START TO TRAIN?
In my teens and early twenties, I didn’t prioritise my health and fitness and felt very nervous and lacking confidence about going to a gym or fitness class. When I was around 26 I started training at a Barre studio and caught the bug for working out regularly. The experience I had training in this studio helped me realise that I had built the confidence to try other types of training. I was really interested in weight training, and a couple of my colleagues had been training with Michael and really recommended him so I got in touch, had a taster session and went from there! Two years later, I’ve lost over four stone and counting.
WHAT HAVE YOU ENJOYED ABOUT TRAINING WITH METRIC?
First and foremost, Michael is a great person who makes me feel really welcome and confident in the gym. Previously I would have been so nervous to walk into the kind of gym we train in, but Michael has really helped me build my confidence. He also pushes me and keeps me accountable. We don’t just speak once or twice a week in our sessions, he’s always checking in with me throughout the week to see how I’m getting on. The sessions are always varied, and I love that he challenges me to achieve PB’s and push myself further than I would have previously. We always have fun in our sessions, and I consider Michael a friend, not just my PT.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT?
I’ve learned what my mind and body are capable of when I apply and trust myself. My goals aren’t just losing weight anymore, I want to build strength and I want to progress with what I can lift - in fact, I’ve learned how much I love lifting weights!
